 thread alerts ?
« Thread Started on Sept 10, 2009, 11:00am »

Hi, I am a new member and so far have really enjoyed and benefited from looking around the site. At the moment my favorite part of the forum is the Bardic section.

I was wondering if it would be beneficial for alerts to be sent to members email addresses whenever a new thread is posted and when replies are posted in their threads. That way people would know that their are new items on the forum and this could possibly generate more use and interest.

I realize that they way the forum works currently would probably encourage people to stop by and look through the whole site, so it might be a case of which is better really.

I would like to say that I really like the site/forum and the people seem really nice too. :D

Peace and blessings ;D

Jon

I would just like to add that if thread alerts were implemented, people could be given the option to opt-out of receiving the alerts

Hail Jonny! And welcome to the forum.

Y'know, I thought it was one of the options somewhere, either in your profile or under the text box when you click 'reply' - but after checking, it seems not. Hmmmm....I'll keep looking ('cos I'm sure it's around here somewhere) and get back to you on that one. I've only recently set the board to be open for the public to view, and there's still a couple of glitches in the matrix (although why, I have no idea, it was a single click option...)

There's an option to 'bookmark this thread'...wonder what that does...?

Bright Blessings
Paul
